BBSRC CASE Studentship offered

Applications are invited for a BBSRC CASE studentship, to be held in the Institute of Biomedical and Life Sciences and the Bioinformatics Research Centre, University of Glasgow, UK.

The topic offered is in modelling and analysing Biochemical Pathways, with a focus on signal transduction. The student will be sponsored by Definiens Ltd and the research will run in tandem with a large interdisciplinary research project funded by the Department of Trade and Industry.

Candidates should have, or be about to receive, a good honours degree in a relevant subject. The studentship will be for 3 years, subject to standard BBSRC terms and conditions which can be found on the BBSRC website. Specifically, applicants must ensure that they conform to the BBSRC eligibility criteria which can be found at www.bbsrc.ac.uk/funding/training/eligibility.pdf, i.e.:

(1) they must be settled in the United Kingdom and have been ordinarily resident in the UK and Islands for a period of three years at the time of nomination (residence criteria); and
(2) they must hold a first or upper second class UK honours degree, or equivalent, in an appropriate area of science and technology (qualifications criteria).

The commencement date is October 2002.
