Volunteers are expected to assist for approximately 4 hours per day during the conference dates (or a minimum of 20 hours for the entire conference).  In return, volunteers are given free conference registration, free food and two conference T-shirts (which must be worn throughout the conference).  Travel (airfare) to and from the conference for volunteers from outside Edmonton will not be covered.

Volunteer Application Site is Now Closed

On March 19, we had our first ISMB 2002 local volunteer meeting. We had an excellent turnout (30 attendees). At this meeting, Dr. Wishart (Chair, ISMB 2002) gave a powerpoint presentation for the volunteers, which gave us a better idea of what's needed and how things will work. We will have another Pizza Night at the Shaw Conference Centre (Edmonton) in June. This will involve training and task assignment.  More information will be sent to you as the time approaches.  For those volunteers who are from outside the Edmonton area, you will be assigned a “local” volunteer who will be your mentor.  Those assignments along with a detailed volunteer schedule will be prepared in June and forwarded to you.
