| Vacancy description VU University Medical Center (VUMC) in Amsterdam is looking for a Post-doc / PhD to set up management and analysis of next generation sequencing data in our genomics team. The successful candidate will process and manage sequencing data, solicit and perform data analysis of genome sequencing experiments, implement existing analysis pipelines and associated data flows. Vacancy requirements You should have a degree in bioinformatics, molecular biology, or statistical genomics. You are a team worker with an excellent network and/or networking skills with prior peer-reviewed publications in this field. Proven computer programming proficiency and quantitative data analysis capabilities (in C#/C++, SQL, PERL, R) are a given. VUMC houses state of the art technological facilities for genomics, including a Micro Array Core Facility and an OncoProteomics laboratory. In the past 10 years genomics have caused a world-wide molecular biological revolution in which the VUMC Micro Array Core Facility has played an important role. Next generation sequencing (or massively parallel sequencing) is the next step in genome research. Research performed in our academic hospital has a strong translational character. In that regard at VUMC we have implemented, arrays, as a genomic technique, for diagnostics in our clinical genetics department and for classification and treatment of different types of cancer. | ||||
