RESEARCH POSITIONS IN GENOMICS, BIOINFORMATICS, AND EVOLUTION

Several openings are available to work on the project entitled “Evolutionary and functional analysis of polymorphic inversions in the human genome”, selected for 5-year funding through an ERC Starting Grant from the European Research Council. This project aims to improve our understanding on the impact of inversions in the human genome at multiple levels by combining methods of different disciplines, such as next-generation genomic techniques, bioinformatics, population genetics, and molecular evolution. Successful candidates will form part of a young, highly dynamic, and interdisciplinary research team located at the Institute of Biotechnology and Biomedicine of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
Available positions:
We are seeking very motivated individuals with a doctorate or university degree and research experience in the following relevant fields:

1. Postdoc expert in high-throughput genomics and molecular biology techniques.

2. Postdoc with strong background in bioinformatic analysis of DNA sequences.

3. Postdoc with good knowledge in population genetics and molecular evolution.

4. PhD student in functional genomics and gene-expression analysis.

5. Research technician/Lab manager with basic training in molecular biology.

Salaries will be competitive according to profile and experience of candidates. Duration of contracts will depend on the specific position, ranging from 1 to 5 years.
