About This Position
As a Research Statistician/Bioinformatics Analyst, you will consult with research teams and will conduct bioinformatics/statistical analyses in a variety of large-scale ‘omics studies. You will work collaboratively with internal scientists on client projects that may result in journal publications, and presentations at professional meetings.
You must have interest in, and aptitude for, consulting with clients ranging from biological scientists, physicians, statisticians and computer science professionals. Experience with microarray analysis a must, ideally with fluency in R and Bioconductor packages.
You must also have training and experience in the application of a broad range of statistical data analysis methods which may include generalized linear and additive models, multivariate methods, machine learning methods for genomics as well as computational biology methodologies for microarray, SNP, and sequence data analysis.
Strong communication and writing skills are essential, as are willingness and ability to learn new data analysis methods and to apply them to new domains.
 
Required Skills
• Minimum Masters Degree Required in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Bioinformatics or related subject
• 3 - 5 years of work experience
• Fluency with R and Bioconductor packages
• Microarray Analysis experience
• Ability to communicate statistical concepts and data analysis interpretations to non-statisticians
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Willingness to assume responsibility for meeting client needs
• Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
• Affinity for collaboration (both internal and external)

Other desired qualifications
• 2+ years experience providing data analysis support to researchers in genomics, statistical genetics, ore related disciplines
• Curiosity about a broad range of biological topics
