| The Computational Biology and Bioinformatics group within the Fundamental and Computational Sciences Directorate at PNNL-Battelle is currently seeking a postdoctoral fellow. The candidate will be involved in cutting-edge research on systems modeling of host-pathogen interactions and concomitant analysis of high-throughput microarray and proteomics data. The candidate will be participating in projects to develop network models of the interaction between host tissues/cells and pathogens using genome-level expression data. He/she will be responsible for interacting with scientists in the group as well as collaborators, helping meet project requirements and applying appropriate statistical and/or bioinformatic approaches to problems defined by the projects. He/she will also be expected to assist in the writing of manuscripts that describe project work/results and have excellent communication skills. | ||||

| Candidates must have received a PhD in Biological Sciences, Bioinformatics or a closely related field within the past five years from an accredited college or university. All staff at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory must be able to demonstrate the legal right to work in the United States. The ideal candidate will have an interdisciplinary background in mammalian physiology and bioinformatics/computational biology, particularly in the analysis and interpretation of microarray and/or proteomics data, working knowledge of statistical methods, the reconstruction of signaling networks, computational network inference from experimental expression data, and the integration of public data sources/biological ontology to enable systems biology research. We are looking for someone with a biology background, preferably in the area of immunology, infectious disease, and/or host-pathogen interactions. The candidate will be part of multidisciplinary scientific teams and will be part of the Computational Biology and Bioinformatics group. This is a limited term employment position with a one-year appointment, and possible extensions up to two years based upon funding and individual performance. | ||||
