Key characteristics of program: Bioinformatics incorporates expertise from the biological sciences, physical and chemical sciences, computer science, forest molecular genetics, forest biotechnology, and mathematics. At the core of the Michigan Tech program are courses in theory, practice, and training in the areas listed, as well as database design, sequence analysis algorithms, molecular modeling, and multivariate analysis of high-throughput microarray and metabolic profiling data.
