Great Lakes Bioinformatics Conference 2014

The Great Lakes Bioinformatics Consortium is pleased to announce the formation of the Great Lakes Bioinformatics Consortium Student Council. We are delighted to promote the inaugural year of the Student Council in conjunction with GLBIO 2014.

This student council will act in conjunction with the Great Lakes Bioinformatics Consortium to assist in developing programs and opportunities for student growth through enhanced educational and networking opportunities. It aims to foster active student involvement in establishing long-term, collaborative relationships among informatics and life sciences researchers and educators from academia, government, and industry within the North American Great Lakes region, including the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin in the U.S, as well as the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec. The Great Lakes region hosts 146 students, 61 post-docs, and 234 professionals who are also members of the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB), which span a total of 134 universities and research institutions.
