The Executive Committee leads and coordinates efforts in developing an international society to promote computational biology. The Committee’s goals are to set Society policy and procedures, to enable the other committees to meet their responsibilities, to approve staffing decisions, to approve all expenditures over a set amount, and to encourage communication between members. The Executive Committee is made up of the elected Society officers and the appointed Executive Officer (a staff position). The committee, together with other key staff members, meets weekly by teleconference. Chairs of other standing and ad-hoc committees participate in the teleconferences on a rotational basis.
