MentorNet News

Welcome to the February 2007 issue of MentorNet News, the monthly e-newsletter about mentoring and diversity in science and engineering.

Black History Month - U.S.A.

February is Black History Month. In honor of this month, MentorNet would like to thank all the black and African-American participants in MentorNet's programs. This year, 10% of the proteges, and 5% of the mentors in our One-on-One E-Mentoring Program self-identify as black/African-American. MentorNet is happy to see these numbers grow over time and hopes that role models like Dr. Brandon Jones, whose story is featured this month, encourage new scientists and engineers to join the MentorNet Community and participate as a mentor or protege.
