TRAVEL FELLOWSHIP APPLICATION: Deadline March 8, 2005 ISMB is pleased to announce funding opportunities for students and postdoctoral fellows to attend the ISMB 2005 conference in Detroit, Michigan. We are committed to providing support to as many eligible applicants as possible.

Awards

Expenses intended to be covered by travel fellowships include airfare, hotels and meals. The total fellowship award depends on geographical location and upon submission of appropriate receipts

  • USA: up to maximum of US$800
  • Canada/Mexico: up to maximum of US$1000
  • Europe: up to maximum of US$1300
  • Japan/Middle-East: up to maximum of US$1500
  • Asia/South-America/Australia: up to maximum of US$1600
Requirements
  1. Applicants will be required to register for ISMB 2005 shortly after they receive notification that they have received a travel fellowship (click here to access the registration page). The deadline for fellowships recipients to register for the conference will be listed on their acceptance letter.
  2. Must be registered in a degree program (undergraduate or graduate) or as a postdoctoral research fellow at an accredited university or college at the time of the conference.
  3. Must present a poster or paper in person at ISMB 2005 (One poster per person, multiple authors applying with the same poster title will not be accepted)
  4. Applicant is responsible for paying all expenses of attending the conference up front.
  5. Applicants must submit receipts for travel and confirmations for housing to the ISMB 2005 registration desk upon check-in.
  6. Checks will be distributed at the conference and will be available on Monday, June 27 between 10:00am and 4:00pm.
Conference Registration
All travel fellowship recipients will be required to register and pay for the ISMB 2005 conference. The early registration deadline is posted here. If your attendance of the ISMB 2005 conference is dependent on receipt of a travel fellowship, please do not register until after the notification of travel fellowships.

  3. You will be notified April 8 if your application has been approved. Successful applicants will be required to present evidence of their eligibility status (such as student identity) upon receiving financial support.
  4. Register for ISMB 2005 (Registration will start January 31, 2005, and the early registration discount will end May 16 - click here). If your attendance of the ISMB 2005 conference is dependent on receipt of a travel fellowship, please do not register until after the notification of travel fellowships.
  5. IMPORTANT: You must submit a paper or poster before you submit a travel fellowship application.
