Job Detail

Postdoctoral Research Associate - Joint with Dr. Junmin Peng and Dr. Jiyang Yu Labs
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
USA-TN

A postdoctoral position is available immediately for a highly motivated candidate to develop computational and systems biology approaches for integrative analysis of large-scale datasets in cutting-edge proteomics and genomics. The candidate will be jointly trained in the labs of Drs. Junmin Peng and Jiyang Yu. The successful applicant will work in a dynamic environment, performing integrative analysis of multidimensional datasets at the population and single-cell levels, including whole genome/exome sequencing, bulk and single-cell RNA-seq, whole proteome and phosphoproteome profiling of clinical disease samples. The developed algorithms will also be applied to investigate pathogenesis in disease models, such as cell lines and animal models, providing novel therapeutic strategies for disease treatment. More information on research projects is available on our websites: http://www.stjude.org/peng and http://www.stjude.org/yu.

Qualifications

The candidate shall have a strong background in bioinformatics, computational biology, systems biology, biomedical informatics, computer science, biostatistics or a related field. The candidate is expected to be a critical thinker, a quick learner for new analytical approaches and capable to develop novel computational methods for solving complex problems. Prior experience on using bioinformatics to analyze high-throughput genomics and proteomics data is preferred. Experience working in UNIX and LINUX environments and programming experience in R or Python are required. Candidate must have an excellent publication record.
