2003 PKR Protein Phosphorylation Workshop
United States - CA - Pacific Grove

Hosted by: The Protein Kinase Resource (PKR)
Venue: Asilomar Conference Center
Dates: Dec 11, 2003 through Dec 14, 2003

Description

The Protein Kinase Resource (PKR) hosted at the San Diego Supercomputer Center is an information resource dedicated to the protein kinase family of proteins. Protein kinases play important roles in regulating cellular processes, in human development, and in disease and are the focus of intense interest in both academic and commercial domains. Recently, we have initiated a process of expansion of the database and conversion of the PKR into an integrated data laboratory. As we undertake this expansion, we are soliciting community feedback and guidance. To facilitate this we are organizing a Protein Phosphorylation conference, which will be held at the Asilomar Conference Center near Monterey, California on December 11-14, 2003. The meeting will gather a diverse group of kinase researchers and bioinformaticists and will help shape the development goals for the PKR, as well as define the future directions and needs of the entire field but also outline requirements for online resources in general.
