The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the state of the art in structure, dynamics, interactions and function of chromatin fiber at different length and time scales. The aim is bring together leaders in the field and younger scientists, to discuss informally how to push the boundaries of these aspects. Participants will include theoreticians and experimentalists. The meeting is spurred by recent theoretical and experimental advances in elucidating the chromatin structure and dynamics. These provide new opportunities and challenges for the investigation of the interactions involved in chromatin organization covering different spatial and temporal scales. The first day of the meeting will be devoted to introductory lectures on essential aspects of chromatin structure, dynamics and interactions. On the subsequent two days there will be talks about current research, discussions on critical issues, and poster sessions. Topics to be covered will include chromatin structure, chromatin dynamics and function, interactions within chromatin fiber, multiscale modeling of chromatin and the like. Speakers are encouraged to present work in progress and discuss speculative ideas. The deadline for registration and submitting abstracts is January 15, 2009. The Biophysics of Chromatin organizers look forward to welcoming you in Heidelberg. |
