Statistical Learning and Data Mining
Austria - Krems

Hosted by: Danube University Krems, Austria
Venue: Danube University Krems - Audimax, Krems / Donau, Austria
Dates: Sep 25, 2009 through Sep 26, 2009

Description

This two-day course by Professor Trevor Hastie and Professor Robert Tibshirani (both Stanford University, USA) gives a detailed overview of statistical models for data mining, inference and prediction. With the rapid developments in internet technology, genomics, financial risk modeling, and other high-tech industries, we rely increasingly more on data analysis and statistical models to exploit the vast amounts of data at our fingertips. The organizer is Prof. Michael G. Schimek who has been teaching in this field for about 10 years at various universities in Europe.
