ACM Conference on Bioinformatics, Computational Biology and Biomedicine (ACM BCB) is the main flagship conference of the newly formed ACM SIG Bioinformatics. ACM BCB 2011 is in its 2nd year, building upon the success of ACM BCB 2010 in Niagara Falls, USA, August 2-4, 2010 with about 200 attendees. ACM BCB 2011 will be held at the Hilton Suites Chicago-Magnificent Mile, USA, from August 1-3. We solicit high quality, original research papers. We welcome papers that report new algorithms or novel computational approaches broadly in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology and Biomedicine. In addition to the emphasis on the novelty of computational techniques, we also encourage papers that report novel biological discovery through non-trivial data mining process by using existing computational techniques. Topics will be broadly classified into the following categories, but not limited to: Genomics and Evolution Protein and RNA Structure, Protein Function, and Proteomics Computational Systems Biology Processing and Application of Next Generation Sequencing Data Medical Informatics and Translational Bioinformatics Cross-Cutting Computational Methods and Bioinformatics Infrastructure Immunoinformatics and Computational Immunology, Computational Epidemiology Image Analysis, Knowledge Representation and Inference, Integration of Biomedical Data Databases, Knowledgebases & Ontologies for Bioinformatics, Text Mining and Natural Language Processing in Biomedicine Important dates Electronic submission of full papers: March 1, 2011 Notification of acceptance: April 15, 2011 Camera-ready submission of accepted papers: May 1, 2011 Conference dates: Aug 1-3, 2011 Paper submission (Link) We invite you to submit papers with unpublished, original research describing recent advances on all aspects of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. All papers will undergo peer review by the conference program committee; accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings (in CD) and in the ACM Digital Library. Authors of selected papers will be invited to extend their papers for submission to several journals. Papers should not exceed 10 pages in ACM template on 8.5 x 11 inch paper (see ACM templates at http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates). Important: The best accepted papers will be published in special issues of Journal of Biomedicine and Biotechnology (to be finalized), Journal of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (confirmed), and BMC Bioinformatics (confirmed). We also invite you to submit posters focusing on problems and new challenges of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. |
