Description

GCB 2011 - German Conference on Bioinformatics 2011
Weihenstephan
September 7-9, 2011

GCB 2011 invites the submission of papers on all aspects of bioinformatics. This year's conference particularly invites papers on
"BIOINFORMATICS FROM Genes and Sequences TO Medical Systems"

The GCB 2011 features a regular paper, a highlights and a poster track. The tracks will be presented in independent sessions.

The conference language will be English.

Papers: Papers should have about eight pages (12 pt, dina4) and will be published in the conference proceedings.Young scientists and PhD students are especially invited to submit their work. Paper submissions will be judged by quality, originality, and relevance via a detailed peer-reviewing by the program committee. The regular paper sessions will allow young scientists to get external feedback to their work and to present it to the bioinformatics community for discussion in order to facilitate a publication in a scientific journal or the dissertation thesis.

Highlights: The Highlights track will present published work - preferably work published during the last year - to the German bioinformatics community. Submissions will be in pdf format and include the proposed Highlight 2011 and a brief authors argument (max. 1 page, 12 pt, dina4) about the importance and relevance of the work. Highlights will be selected by the program committee based on originality, importance and relevance of the work for the GCB audience. The Highlights sessions will allow for an information and discussion forum about current and exciting Bioinformatics research in Germany.

Poster abstracts: Posters should present recent scientific work in Bioinformatics. Poster abstracts are 1-2 pages (12 pt, dina4) including figures and references. Abstracts of accepted posters will be published in a separate abstract book. Posters will be presented and discussed in a Poster session at the GCB 2011.

Submissions will only be accepted electronically from June, 1 2011 until July, 15 (Posters until August, 15) via the easychair system http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=gcb2011.
Authors will be notified about acceptance by July, 31.
