Description

WRSBS: 1st International Workshop on Robustness and Stability of Biological Systems and Computational Solutions

Call for Papers

WRSBS: 1st International Workshop on Robustness and Stability of Biological Systems and Computational Solutions (WRSBS’12) October 7, 2012 Orlando, Florida, USA http://cise.ufl.edu/~sheikh/wsb/

In conjunction with the 3rd ACM Conference on Bioinformatics, Computational Biology and Biomedicine (ACM BCB 2012)

In several research areas of computational biology, problems are modeled using a mathematical optimization criteria, such as likelihood under a model. In many situations, the configuration of the solution is at least as important as the objective value. In some areas, such questions have been tackled using tools like bootstrapping and jackknifing. Our goal is to bring together researchers from all areas of computational biology where techniques are being developed to study the stability of biological systems and computational solutions. Further, we wish to raise awareness to the issues of stability in all areas of biology.

We invite original technical contributions, including position papers on stability and robustness of biological systems and/or computational solutions in all areas of bioinformatics, including but not limited to:

Systems Biology
Protein & RNA Structure
Comparative Genomics, Population & Cancer Genomics
Algorithms for Sequence Analysis
Bioimage analysis
Databases, Knowledgebases & Ontologies

Papers should be at most 7 pages long in the ACM journal format. Paper should be submitted in PDF/PS format through Easychair at the following link: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=wrsbs2012

Important Dates:
--------------------
Paper submission deadline: July 30, 2012
Notification of acceptance: August 9, 2012
Camera ready deadline: August 16, 2012
Workshop: October 7, 2012

Publication:
-------------
All papers will be published at the workshop proceedings and at the ACM digital library. For accepted workshop papers, we require that each camera-ready paper be formatted strictly according to the official ACM Proceedings Format. Please submit PDF file only. To prepare for the camera-ready PDF file submission, you may use either the Microsoft word template or the Latex files preparation instructions found here. All final camera-ready submissions must be accompanied by a completed digital copy (scanned Okay) of the ACM copyright transfer form, or else the paper cannot be included in the final workshop proceedings.
