The Center for Modeling Immunity to Enteric Pathogens (MIEP) is a NIAID-funded program with the mission of understanding the mechanisms of action underlying immune responses to enteric pathogens. MIEP and the three related Centers of the NIAID Modeling Immunity for Biodefense Program provide Summer Schools each year for interested graduate, pre- and post-graduate students. June 9-12, 2014, Modeling Mucosal Immunity will introduce immunologists to the application of computational modeling tools and techniques for hypothesis generation and testing. The Summer School will be followed immediately by a 1 day Symposium on June 13. This school is intended for experimental immunologists who desire an introduction to mathematical/computational modeling techniques and their applications to immunology. Computational biology and bioinformatics graduate students at the earliest stages of their studies are also welcome. No previous computational modeling experience is required. |
