| 2014 KDD Workshop: Big Data Analytic Technology For Bioinformatics and Health Informatics (KDDBHI) August 24, 2014, New York City, USA http://www.kddbhi.com/ --------------------------------------------- Workshop Motivation --------------------------------------------- The emerging fusion of Bioinformatics and Health Informatics has promoted research in target drug, personalized medicine, clinical decision support and population health management, etc. and collaborations among researchers in bioinformatics and health informatics and clinicians as well as data scientists. It also demands big data analytics incorporating latest advancement in data mining, machine learning and statistical methodologies. This workshop provides a platform for professionals, researchers, clinicians, and data scientists to share opinions and exchange ideas, so as to facilitate fusion of Bioinformatics and Health Informatics research and industry as well as big data analytics to support and promote such research activities. --------------------------------------------- List of Topics --------------------------------------------- Papers from all areas of computational intelligence, data mining, predictive model, statistical and machine learning with applications in Bioinformatics and Health Informatics are welcome. Authors are invited to submit their papers in the following topics, but not limited to these topics: • Healthcare and healthcare delivery • Healthcare policy research • Healthcare outcomes research, monitoring and evaluation • Health Analytics and Informatics • Hospital Information System • Electronic Medical Record and Electronic Health Record • Population Health and Public Health Management • Mobile Health and Sensor Applications • Other areas related to healthcare • Protein structure prediction • Protein function analysis • Drug design • RNAseq and microarray gene expression data analysis • Gene regulatory network construction • Next-generation sequencing(NGS) analysis • Functional Genomics • Population, Evolution, and Comparative Genomics • Translational Bioinformatics • Other areas related to proteomics and genomics • Other related areas with applications in big data technology --------------------------------------------- Evaluation and Decision Criteria --------------------------------------------- Submitted papers will be assessed based on their novelty, technical quality, potential impact, and clarity. For papers that rely heavily on empirical evaluations, the experimental methods and results should be clear and well executed. --------------------------------------------- Formatting Requirements --------------------------------------------- Papers are limited to 6 pages, including references, diagrams, and appendices, if any. The format is the standard double column ACM Proceedings Template, Tighter Alternate style. Go to website https://cmt.research.microsoft.com/BHI2014/ , and create an account if you have not. 2. Log in the system with your username and password, and select your role “Author”. Click “Manage Submissions” tab, and create a new Paper Submission. 3. Fill up the information about your paper and authors, and then upload your file.
