Workshop Motivation
---------------------------------------------
The emerging fusion of Bioinformatics and Health Informatics has promoted research in target drug, personalized medicine, clinical decision support and population health management, etc. and collaborations among researchers in bioinformatics and health informatics and clinicians as well as data scientists. It also demands big data analytics incorporating latest advancement in data mining, machine learning and statistical methodologies. This workshop provides a platform for professionals, researchers, clinicians, and data scientists to share opinions and exchange ideas, so as to facilitate fusion of Bioinformatics and Health Informatics research and industry as well as big data analytics to support and promote such research activities.

Papers from all areas of computational intelligence, data mining, predictive model, statistical and machine learning with applications in Bioinformatics and Health Informatics are welcome. Authors are invited to submit their papers in the following topics, but not limited to these topics:

Evaluation and Decision Criteria
---------------------------------------------
Submitted papers will be assessed based on their novelty, technical quality, potential impact, and clarity. For papers that rely heavily on empirical evaluations, the experimental methods and results should be clear and well executed.

Formatting Requirements
---------------------------------------------
Papers are limited to 6 pages, including references, diagrams, and appendices, if any. The format is the standard double column ACM Proceedings Template, Tighter Alternate style.

Paper Submission Instruction

1. Go to website https://cmt.research.microsoft.com/BHI2014/ , and create an account if you have not.
2. Log in the system with your username and password, and select your role “Author”. Click “Manage Submissions” tab, and create a new Paper Submission.
3. Fill up the information about your paper and authors, and then upload your file. Click “Submit”, then you finish your submission process.
