This new Wellcome Trust conference on Computational RNA Biology will bring together experimental and computational researchers to discuss the recent advances and developments in non-coding RNA biology. In recent years there have been important advances in identifying and understanding non-coding RNAs. They are involved in many biological processes and are increasingly seen as important in disease. Computational approaches greatly assist our understanding of how to characterise and understand the biological functions of these molecules. This meeting will cover all aspects of RNA biology with a focus on computational methods to elucidate structure, function and interactions of non-coding RNAs across species. We welcome abstracts from all areas relevant to non-coding RNA research. Several oral presentations will be chosen from the abstracts submitted. Topics will include: RNA biology and disease Long non-coding RNAs Small RNA regulation RNA structure from computation and experiment Interactions and systems Scientific programme committee: Alex Bateman EMBL-EBI, UK Sean Eddy HHMI, Janelia Farm, USA Anton Enright EMBL-EBI, UK Mihaela Zavolan University of Basel, Switzerland Confirmed speakers Janusz Bujnicki International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw (IIMCB), Poland Peter Clote Boston College, USA Christoph Dieterich Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing, Germany Eduardo Eyras Pompeu Fabra University, Spain Sam Griffiths-Jones University of Manchester, UK Artemis Hatzigeorgiou Fleming Institute, Greece Christine Heitsch Georgia Institute of Technology, USA Eric Miska University of Cambridge, UK Uwe Ohler Max Delbrueck Center, Germany Matteo Osella University of Torino, Italy Andrea Pagnani University of Torino, Italy Chris Ponting University of Oxford, UK John Rinn Harvard Uinversity, USA Karissa Sanbonmatsu Los Alamos National Laboratory, USA Peter Stadler University of Vienna, Austria Stefan Washietl Paperpile LLC, Austria Shira Weingarten-Gabbay Weizmann Institute Of Science, Israel |
