Bridging Biology and Informatics for R&D Innovation
United Kingdom - Cambridge

Hosted by: Eagle Genomics
Venue: The Kendrew Lecture Theatre, Wellcome Trust Genome Campus
Dates: Mar 23, 2015 through Mar 23, 2015

Description

Eagle Genomics’ 5th annual symposium will focus on the challenges faced by the research community in bridging biology and informatics to uncover significant global discoveries in human health. Our programme is presented by thought leaders, scientists and key pioneers working on important advancements in their respective fields. The symposium attempts to find communality in addressing microbiology, disease research, and drug development. The day will be spent exploring how computational biology is being applied in R&D in such areas as antimicrobial resistance, personalised medicine, and therapeutic target validation.

During the symposium, the speakers will share with the delegates innovative approaches used in research, the challenges, and resulting solutions to showcase how they have opened up new frontiers in life sciences.

This year we focus on the following four sessions:

Microorganisms, disease resistance and genome editing
Clinical genomics and personalised medicine
Molecular information in therapeutic drug development
Keynote Address, Dr. Ewan Birney FRS, Joint Associate Director, EMBL-EBI
