Topics such as Drug Delivery, Nanosphere Technology, Intelligent Drug Discovery, Drug Repositioning, Drug Resistance, Patient-specific biomarkers discovery are yielding intriguing and complex problems. Our main and special guest lectures will address such a scope focusing on algorithms, models, biomedical and biotechnological techniques together with clinical applications. From the enclosed bibliography, the selected themes have received much attention in the scholarly literature ranging from Nature and Science to Bioinformatics Journals. The conference room (very close to the same hotels) is air-conditioned and equipped with all conference materials. Special areas are reserved to students for the afternoon coursework and study. The island of Lipari can be easily reached from Milazzo, Palermo, Naples, Messina and Reggio Calabria by ferry or hydrofoil (50 minutes from Milazzo - https://bio.liparischool.it/travel-information). Two kinds of participants are welcome. Students: Participants who are expected to do afternoon coursework and take a final exam (The grades will be given following the ECTS grading scale). The course will involve a total of 24 hours of teaching. According to our university rules passing the final exam gives right to an equivalent of 6 ECTS credits in any Ph.D. program. Auditors: participants who are not interested in taking the final exam. Registration fee is 500 €. The fee covers the course material, bus+hydrofoil Catania airport-Lipari-Catania airport, social events and coffee breaks. Late registration is 600 €. Applications can be submitted from November 22nd, 2016 up to May 31st, 2017. Late registrations will be accepted until July 3rd, 2017. Admission notification will start on March 1st, 2017, according to registration time. Applicants must include a short curriculum vitae or a website with an updated curriculum vitae.
