| The 7th International Symposium on Biological and Medical Data Analysis (ISBMDA 2006) aims to integrate interdisciplinary research from scientific fields such as statistics, biomedical informatics, information processing & management and knowledge discovery for biomedical data analysis and its link with medical practice through well defined case studies and examples. It aims to provide an international forum for sharing and exchanging of original research results, ideas and practical development experiences in areas related to the analysis of biomedical data and its impact in fields such as: * Bioinformatics * Biomedical informatics * Pharmacogenetics * Molecular medicine * Medical databases and information systems * Ontologies and formal representation systems * Methods and systems for database integration * Data visualization and representation * Grid-based approaches for data processing and management * Data analysis for image processing * Biomedical signal processing * Statistical methods and tools for biomedical data analysis and interpretation * Time series analysis * Information retrieval * WWW and text mining * Knowledge discovery and data mining * Decision support systems This list is not exhaustive. Papers on all aspects of biological and medical data analysis, management and interpretation are welcome. Both research and applications papers are solicited. All submitted papers will be reviewed on the basis of technical quality, relevance, originality, significance, and clarity. Accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings, which, like in the previous editions of ISBMDA symposia, are programmed to be published in the "Lecture Notes" series of Springer Verlag, Heidelberg, Germany. |
