Welcome to ISCB Africa ASBCB Conference on Bioinformatics 2017

October 10 - 12, 2017

The International Society for Computational Biology and the African Society for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology are pleased to once again join together to host the ISCB Africa ASBCB Conference on Bioinformatics in Entebbe, Uganda, October 10 – 12, 2017; post-conference workshops on Oct. 13. This meeting constitutes the fifth joint meeting of ISCB and ASBCB, and the sixth conference of the ASBCB on Bioinformatics of African pathogens, hosts and vectors.

The ISCB-Africa ASBCB conference features a broad bioinformatics scope that include a special focus on infectious diseases relevant to Africa. Please consider submitting your best research for presentation at the conference as a talk or poster. Samples of topics of interest include the following (although other computational biology topics are welcome as we ultimately seek the best, most interesting and novel presentations for this conference):

• Bioinformatics of human genetics and population studies
• Host/pathogen interactions and dynamics of  infectious diseases
• Microbiome studies
• Systems biology
• Tools, Pipelines, databases and resource development
• Molecular epidemiology and evolution
• Pharmacogenomics, vaccines and drugs design
• Functional, structural, and comparative genomics

Mark your calendar now to be sure to attend this meeting in October 2017. The organizers look forward to welcoming you to Entebbe, Uganda!
