Recognize a Colleague for Distinguished Science:

Nominations for the 2020 Class of Fellows are Open!

Nominations Deadline - December 04, 2019

The International Society for Computational Biology introduced the ISCB Fellows Program in 2009 to honor members that have distinguished themselves through outstanding contributions to the fields of computational biology and bioinformatics. We newly consider two types of Fellow nominations:
(i) Academic nominees: These are nominees who have done the bulk of their work in academia, including government and research institutions. Such nominations must demonstrate primarily excellence in research, which includes the development of methods or resources that advance research. The nomination can be strengthened by pointing to service to the computational biology community, education and/or administration.
(ii) Industry nominees: These are nominees who have done the bulk of their work in industry. Such nominations must demonstrate primarily the impact of their industrial work on the field. The nomination can be strengthened by pointing to research, education, or service to the computational biology community, e.g. by providing research infrastructure.

2019 ISCB Wikipedia Competition - Accepting Submissions!
The International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) and the Computational Biology taskforce of WikiProject Molecular Biology announce the 9th ISCB Wikipedia Competition: the competition aims to improve the coverage on Wikipedia of any aspect of computational biology. The competition is open to students and trainees at any level either as individuals or as groups.
Genetic Damon Runyon Launches New Quantitative Biology Award!
ISCB Members involved in helping young scientists become next generation of leaders in the field! The Damon Runyon Quantitative Biology Fellowship Award of young scientists will support a new generation of computational scientists who will pioneer novel approaches to the design and interpretation of experiments in cancer research, to answer a myriad of important biological and clinical questions.
New NIH Funding Opportunity!
The NIH Maximizing Opportunities for Scientific and Academic Independent Careers (MOSAIC) program is designed to facilitate the transition of promising postdoctoral researchers from diverse backgrounds, such as individuals from groups underrepresented in the biomedical research workforce at the faculty level, into independent faculty careers at research-intensive institutions. Giving Back Never Felt So Good

Donate Now to the Anna Tramontano Fund to help support the
next generation of computational biologists!

The goal of the Anna Tramontano Fellowship Fund is help reduce the financial burden to the students who are offered these internships by providing travel support. We hope that by providing financial support, reducing costs to the PIs, we will be able to increase the number of internships offered in a given year. Demand (students) continues to increase and this is an excellent way to develop our future researchers.
