H3ABioNet's Post Doc/Early Career Scientist Development Workshop 'Grant Proposal Development'

Dates: Sunday, 8th October and Friday, 13th October 2017

Location: Laico Hotel (8th October 2017) and UVRI Campus (13th October 2017), Entebbe, Uganda

Organizers: H3ABioNet, UVRI and ASBCB

Workshop aim: To provide insight into, and basic practical experience in, developing grant proposals.

Intended audience: Post Docs and Early Career Scientists (any discipline).

Attendance: Participants are expected to attend BOTH days of the workshop (Sunday, 8th October AND Friday 13th October 2017).

Cost: There is no cost associated with attending the workshop, however participants must organize their own transport and accommodation.

H3ABioNet's Career Development Workshop 'Communicating Science'

Dates: Monday, 9th October & Friday, 13th October 2017

Location: UVRI Campus, Entebbe, Uganda

Workshop organizers: H3ABioNet, UVRI and ASBCB

Workshop aim: To convey why it is important to communicate one's science and to provide tips and tricks as well as practical experience in doing just that. Topics include:
• Effectively communicating research
• Getting your scientific posters noticed
• Winning scientific oral presentations
• How to read a research article

Intended audience: MSc and PhD students (any discipline.)

Attendance: Participants are expected to attend BOTH days of the workshop (Monday, 9th October AND Friday 13th October 2017).

Cost: There is no cost associated with attending the workshop, however participants must organize their own transport and accommodation.
