The International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) presented the 13th Annual International conference on Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology (ISMB 2005). Hosted June 25-29 by the University of Michigan Bioinformatics Program as well as the Michigan Center for Biological Information and chaired by Professors David J. States and Brian D. Athey, ISMB 2005 provided a forum for disseminating the latest developments in bioinformatics. This multidisciplinary conference brought together scientists from molecular biology, medicine, computer science, mathematics and statistics.

The conference featured original, refereed papers, which were published as a supplementary issue of Bioinformatics and indexed in the Medline database. The proceedings were provided to participants as a bound volume at the conference.
