Lightening Talk Details

Each presenter will be given 3 minutes (timed) to present their material before the slide advances to the next speaker. Present your poster in a lighting style format using the Ignite talks presentation style or using a single PPTX slide or PDF. Practice your talk to ensure timing.

Tips for Lightening Talks:

  • Short and Concise: Like an elevator pitch for research, a lightning talk delivers key messages in a very brief timeframe, usually 3 minutes.
  • Focused: The presenter selects 2-3 critical points to convey their idea or research story.
  • Visual: Presenters often use a limited number of slides (1-3 slides is common) to support their talk and keep it dynamic.
  • Engaging: The format is designed to capture attention and spark curiosity, encouraging future conversations and collaborations.
  • Refer to poster number to continue discussion at poster session
