The Eighth Annual Meeting of the MidSouth Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Society, MCBIOS 2011 will be held April 1-2, 2011 in College Station, Texas. The theme for this year is "Computational Biology and Bioinformatics for a New Decade". The Student Awards Committee is soliciting the submission of abstracts on topics relevant to the Computational Biology and Bioinformatics community from students interested in a student travel award to the MCBIOS Conference. http://www.mcbios.org/index.html The deadline for the submission of abstracts is January 22, 2011 at 12:00 am (CST). Abstracts are limited to 250 words in length and should be submitted for one of two focus areas: Computation or Biology research. Student applicants are required to complete the early registration process during the online abstract submission. Payment is not required at this time pending notification of winners. There will be 6 award winners, three for each focus area. Selection will be based on abstract content. The winners will receive $400 toward registration and travel expenses. Applicants will be notified by February 26, 2011 of their standing. Those not receiving awards will need to submit Conference payment at the online registration site. |
