Description

Dear ISCB members,
We would like to welcome you to register for the 4th Joint RECOMB Conference on regulatory Genomics, Systems Biology, and DREAM Challenges. As you may know from past editions, this is one of the premier meetings in this rapidly developing research field, which brings together both the experimental and the computational community. This year, the Joint Conference will be held in Europe for the first time, in conjunction with the RICCI Symposium on Cancer Informatics.

The Joint Conference will be held on October 14-19 in Barcelona, Spain, starting on Friday October 14th at 9am and ending on Wednesday October 19 at 5pm.

Invited speakers: This year, we have an outstanding line-up including: Scott Armstrong (Harvard), Ewan Birney (EBI), Martha Bulyk (HMS), Andrea Califano (Columbia U), Raymond Cho (UCSF), Eileen Furlong (EMBL), Barry Honig (Columbia U), Manolis Kellis (MIT), Edda Klipp (Humboldt-Universitaet), Rune Linding (DTU), Núria López-Bigas (UPF), Franziska Michor (DFCI), Dana Pe’er (Columbia U), Sylvia Plevritis (Stanford), Jonathan Pritchard (U. Chicago), Julio Sáez-Rodríguez (EMBL), Luis Serrano (CRG), Alex Stark (IMP Vienna), Gary, Stormo (WashU), Gustavo Stolovitzky (IBM), Alfonso Valencia (CNIO), and Dennis Vitkup (Columbia U).

Submissions are open for five tracks, which in summary include:
(1) Full-length papers of previously unpublished work with a biological focus, for publication in a special issue of Genome Research.
(2) Full-length papers of previously unpublished work with a computational focus, for publication in the Journal for Computational Biology.
(3) One-page abstracts of previously unpublished work.
(4) One-page abstracts of high-impact, recently published papers.
(5) Predictions for reverse engineering challenges.

All accepted papers will be published online in the respective journal in coordination with the conference and will be guaranteed an oral presentation. All abstracts will be included in the abstract book to be distributed to all participants at the four conferences, and will be treated as personal communications. Notification of decisions will be sent on Thursday September 15.
