Call for Participation The 9th annual MidSouth Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Society Conference, http://mcbios.org will be held at the Inn at Ole Miss on the campus of the University of Mississippi, Oxford, Mississippi on February 17 and 18, 2012. Join MCBIOS at their conference this year titled “Dealing with the Omics Data Deluge”. The Conference Program Committee invites you to submit an abstract for either a poster or oral presentation. Abstracts are limited to 250 words in length. Participants presenting either a poster or a talk will be eligible to submit a manuscript for publication in the Conference Proceedings. As in previous years, we plan to publish the proceedings in BMC Bioinformatics, a highly-ranked open-access journal. Keynote and Invited Lectures: * John Quackenbush, Ph.D. Professor of Biostatistics and Computational Biology, and of Cancer Biology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) and Professor of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics at the Harvard School of Public Health, Boston, MA * Michael Gribskov, PhD, Professor, Biological Sciences at Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN * Sultan Meghji, Vice President of Analytics Applications, Appistry, Inc., St. Louis, MO Workshops * Hands-on use and exploration of NCBI tools and databases-hosted by Dr. Peter Cook, NCBI/NIH * Data-analysis collaboration-hosted by Dr. Ed Perkins, ERDC, Pres-elect MCBIOS |
