Description

PhD students in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology and in Computational Infection Biology from the University College Dublin (UCD) are hosting the third PhD symposium Computational Biology and Innovation. The symposium will be hosted in the Conway Institute of Biomolecular and Biomedical Research.

Our aim is to bring together different research areas of computational biology and provide an opportunity for students to showcase their work in an interdisciplinary scientific environment. In addition, we see this event as an opportunity for students to make their research known to leading companies in the field and for the companies to have a chance to get to know the next generation of young Computational Biologists.

The 3rd symposium will be held on 5th - 7th of December 2012 at the Conway Institute of Biomolecular and Biomedical Research in UCD, Dublin. The event will be structured in several sessions. Each will have presentations by PhD students and a keynote speech from an internationally renowned speaker. All PhD students from around the world doing research in Computational Biology are invited to present their research (oral or poster) or just join us for this experience.

We hope that this event will pave the way for new partnerships and collaborations with academia and industry.
