| Over the last decade, the Bioinformatics symposiums held in Spain, have received remarkable submissions from computational groups that have led to new biological discoveries. With the aim of encouraging the participation of younger bioinformaticians, this year’s symposium main theme is “Bioinformatics: The New Breed”. A great need in the scientific community is for young scientists who are aware of, and trained, to use methods, tools and approaches that combine large-scale datasets in ways that address important biological questions. One of the main objectives of this meeting is to address exactly this need. Through the submitted abstracts and selected published work we aim to identify promising scientists in this interdisciplinary field and promote their careers through presentations and interactions with leading scientists in the field. This conference will be also coordinated with the Bioinformatics Networks of Portugal and Morocco and we will dedicate a Student session the first day of the conference. twitter: #jbi2014 |
