Description

The Workshop on the Future of Algorithms in Biology (FAB) 2018 will be hosted by the Computational Biology Department at Carnegie Mellon University on September 28 and 29, 2018.

The intent of this workshop is to bring together theoretically-minded researchers in computational biology and theoretical computer science to discuss a vision of the field over the next 5 years and beyond. The meeting will have a set of keynotes and invited speakers from a range of sub-disciplines who will share what they see as the important research directions, open problems and challenges that will propel algorithmic advances in biological problems. In addition to hearing from the speakers, attendees will participate in a moderated panel discussion, with the goal of identifying the overarching themes that arose during the meeting.

Participation is encouraged from researchers in all subfields and career stages. Registration is free but required.
