| The Ninth National Conference on Bioinformatics and Systems Biology will be held from October 8th to 11th, 2020 in Suzhou Jinji Lake International Conference Center, Suzhou, China. The National Conference on Bioinformatics and Systems Biology has a long history, and is the highest one at the national level and the most influential national event in the field of bioinformatics research in China. It is held every two years. The 9th conference is organized by the China Bioinformatics Association, co-organized by the Key Laboratory of Bioinformatics of the Ministry of Education of Tsinghua University and the Functional Genomic Informatics and Systems Biology Branch of the Chinese Society of Cell Biology, and co-sponsored by Tongji University and Fudan University. Bioinformatics started in the early 1990s in China. It is an interdisciplinary discipline that integrates mathematics, physics, and computer science and engineering disciplines with life sciences, medicine, and pharmacy disciplines. It mainly studies biological and medical problems by combining computational methods, high-throughput omics technology, and biological experiments. At present, bioinformatics has become a mature and cutting-edge interdisciplinary subject from emerging disciplines. It is an indispensable component of modern life sciences and medicine. Its leading position plays a pivotal role in cutting-edge biological and medical fields such as biomedical big data mining, artificial intelligence, synthetic biology, disease mechanism exploration, and new drug development. The conference will invite both domestic and foreign experts in the field of bioinformatics and systems biology to deliver invited keynote speeches, plenary speeches and regular session presentations on the latest research progresses and trends in related fields. Submissions will be professionally reviewed by conference committee members composed of domestic and foreign academic and industry experts. Researchers and experts in related fields are welcome to submit contributions and participate in the conference. |
