| Organizers: Centre for Excellence in Molecular Biology, Lahore, Pakistan Federation of Asian and Oceanian Biochemists and Molecular Biologists(FAOBMB) S* Life Science Informatics Alliance APBioNet Progeniq Pte Ltd Endorsing Organizations: International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) Association for Medical and Bio-Informatics, Singapore (AMBIS) Bioinformatics is a newly emerging and exciting field in Pakistan and its surrounding countries. This workshop aims to bring together the bioinformatics community in Pakistan, to raise the level of understanding of bioinformatics, and to provide a platform for discussing issues with scientists from other countries. Hands-on practical sessions will provide participants with a first hand experience of the bioinformatics tools available and how they are used. Lecture sessions conducted by invited scientists and professors from countries such as Singapore and Sweden, will provide participants with an understanding of the current state of research and how bioinformatics is utilized in that work. Several sessions will also be dedicated to discussing the formation of a national-level society for bioinformatics in Pakistan. |
