Key characteristics of program:

Three 4 month rotation projects with different supervisors concurrent with graduate level classes. Students are funded for 2 years - sufficient to complete a MSc thesis. Beyond that time, the thesis adviser provides the requisite funding. About half of the students opt to pursue a PhD degree. The program is highly competitive, with most incoming students having strong demonstrated interest in both computational and biological sciences.

Program Goals:

To prepare students to conduct bioinformatics research of the highest international standard. Students will have the capacity to learn new techniques and technologies in the rapidly changing field. Students will understand the reach of bioinformatics into diverse disciplines of the life sciences.
