Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the University of Toronto is a full, four year Specialist Program of Study, that is balanced between its foundational disciplines while covering advanced topics in both the theoretical and the life-sciences. The program draws on the University of Torontoâ??s state-of-the-art facilities across the Departments of Biochemistry, Computer Science, Cell and Systems Biology, Evolution and Ecology, and Molecular Genetics. It is firmly embedded in a comprehensive landscape of world-leading graduate and postgraduate research in one of the Universityâ??s priority areas. This is a challenging academic program that offers new opportunities to study in one of North Americaâ??s leading Universities, in a supportive, open, multicultural society with an exceptionally high standard of life.

Program Goals:

The Program offers a broad, balanced, and rigorous curriculum. It includes introductory and advanced courses in mathematics, statistics and machine learning, computer science, molecular biology and genetics, as well as specialized bioinformatics courses. Opportunity for research-embedded project courses is emphasized. Graduates will be well prepared to pursue graduate studies in any of the participating Departments, or to apply their skills in research-oriented industry positions.
