Key characteristics of program:

The program stresses hands on computational research, from the first year to the last, and is designed to help students learn mental skills important in any area of research. Bioinformatic techniques are learned within the context of projects. Majors may follow any of three tracks: (1) genomic , (2) computational, or (3) quantitative/statistical.

Program Goals:

Graduates are expected to have learned how to formulate a significant problem, to find and critically build upon the work of others in multiple fields, to use or devise appropriate tools (including those of bioinformatics) to address the problem, and, finally, to communicate their results in a meaningful way to the world.
