Key characteristics of program:

This is a full-time research degree and involves performing a research project in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology under supervision. Depending on the background of the student, the Post-Graduate Committee may recommend that a student completes modules that are taught in the BSc Hons Bioinformatics and Computational Biology degree to address training deficiencies.

Program Goals:

The program aims to deliver a student capable of original thought, independent logical analysis, rigorous problem solving, who is well-versed in the scientific method and capable of planning research and assessing scientific results. The graduate will have comprehensive knowledge of a number of fields in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, and capable of performing complex analysis of biological data using available software tools, as well as to develop, code, and deliver high-quality new bioinformatics tools.
