Key characteristics of program:
The Master of Science in Bioinformatics program is designed to integrate the biological and computational sciences. Incoming students usually have an undergraduate degree in one of these areas and course work is designed to bring all students to a high level in bioinformatics. Experience in computer science and advanced molecular biology is not required as these are taught as part of the degree program. |
Program Goals:
Graduates of the program will have expertise in broad range of bioinformatic techniques and associated computational skills such as pipeline development, machine learning and bioinformatic database design. These skills, together with expertise in biomedical molecular biology, will make students strong contenders for a wide range Bioinformatics Scientist positions. Students can also use their expertise to complete advanced degrees such as a. PhD or MD. |
