|
Key characteristics of program:
The Graduate Program in Bioinformatics at UTFPR provides theoretical and applied training in (1) structural and functional biology, (2) computational biology, and (3) artificial intelligence and data mining. The program offers master’s and doctoral degrees in the fields of bioinformatics for students pursuing a career in science and technology. |
Program Goals:
The high volume of biological data generated nowadays leads to a new demand for biological data analytics and a new generation of interdisciplinary scientists able to deal with the increasing amount of information from different fields of biology, agronomy, among others in different levels of scale (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics). The major challenges is to train experts who can effectively understand and analyse large-scale biological data. The Graduate Program in Bioinformatics of the Federal University of Technology - Paraná (UTFPR) was created in 2015 to meet this demand. |
