Director World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Presentation Title: Linked Data in Health Care and Life Sciences: What's Next Abstract: The Health Care and Life Sciences Community has been an early adopter of Semantic Web technologies that enable data to be linked and queried across disparate databases. While the W3C Semantic Web technologiy standards such as RDF, OWL, SPARQL and SKOS are being used successfully, there are still impediments to wider adoption in the health care and life sciences community. Additionally, more tools need to be developed that will enable faster and more successful use of Semantic Web technologies. We'll address what's needed and what's next from both business and technology adoption points of view.
