Science Policy in Europe and Beyond

In order to have a voice in science policy, ISCB has been an active member of FASEB for about a year. ISCB would like to find similar means of giving its members a voice in science policy in other areas of the world. On Tuesday, August 3, 2004, at the ISMB/ECCB conference in Glasgow, there will be an open meeting of the ISCB Public Affairs & Policies Committee. We hope to solicit from attendees the issues of most importance to them, and ideas for how to pursue education and advocacy in Europe as well as other regions.

Below are links to some other organizations active in European science policy:

European Science Foundation: www.esf.org

The European Life Sciences Forum: www.elsf.org

The Biosciences Federation (serving the UK): www.bsf.ac.uk

If you know of others we should be watching in other regions of the world as well, please send them to admin@iscb.org. We will try to track their progress and form alliances where possible and appropriate.
