The International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB), Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados del IPN (Cinvestav), Genesis Museo & Laboratorio Cuatro Ciénegas, Coahuila, Instituto Traslacional de Singularidad Genómica (ITRASIG), and MexicanNetwork of Bioinformatics is please to announce the  BioGeoEvolution: Bridging Past and Future Discoveries 2025 (BiGEvo) conference.  This conference aims to foster interdisciplinary discussions and collaborations that deepen our understanding of the interplay between geological processes and the evolution of life on Earth. It will emphasize ancient microbial ecosystems as models for early Earth conditions and explore their modern applications in biotechnology and ecology. The conference will be held in Cuatro Ciénegas, Coahuila, Mexico,  28-30 May 2025, with pre and post-conference events occurring 26-27 May and 31 May - June 1.

BiGEvo 2025 will provide a forum for rich interaction and to showcase scientific developments. Importantly, this event will help strengthen interactions between bioinformatics, evolution, and geology.  Our scientific programme will be composed of illuminating keynote speakers, talks selected from submitted abstracts, novel posters presentations, and pre-conference workshops.

Topics of Interest Include:

  • Computational Evolutionary Biology
  • Evolutionary Biology and Astrobiology
  • Geology and Evolution
  • Climate Change and Environmental Impacts
  • Ecology of Stromatolites, Microbialites and Microbial Mats
  • Evolutionary Genomics and Metagenomics
  • Bioprospection for Novel Discoveries
  • Wetland Conservation
  • Hydrogeology
  • Geomicrobiology
  • Environmental Paleoecology, DNA from soils and sediments (sed- and sedaDNA) and Paleoclimatology
  • Extremophiles and Adaptation
  • Geospatial & Geophysical Studies of Semiarid Environments
