If you do not know the email address you used to register with ISCB, please send email to admin@iscb.org before proceeding with conference registration.

NON-MEMBERS OF ISCB: Non-members will be able to join ISCB through the ISMB 2008 on-line conference registration system and immediately receive member rates for ISMB 2008. ISCB MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL: If your ISCB membership is not current or will expire on or before July 23, 2008, you will be offered an opportunity to renew your membership as part of your registration fees through the online system.

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

To register via fax or mail, please print out the Registration Form (152KB), complete the information and fax or mail to CTE USA, the 2008 registration company. For further information write to registration08@ismbconf.org

PAYMENT OPTIONS
ISMB 2008 conference fees are charged in United States Dollar.

CREDIT CARDS
The following credit cards are accepted for registration: American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa.

WIRE TRANSFER
To arrange a wire transfer please email registration08@ismbconf.org for instructions. Please note that any bank fees will be charged to the participant.

CHECK
If you are paying by check, your registration will not be activated until your check is received. Please print your confirmation page at the end of the registration process and mail it with your check in order to ensure proper credit to your account. Checks must be payable in US$, drawn on a US Bank (or US based branch of a foreign bank) and must be made payable to ISCB.

Invitation letters required for visa applications will be sent with your confirmation, after registration and full payment have been received. You must be registered for the conference in order to receive an invitation letter.

NEW FOR 2008

ISMB 2008 has introduced a number of changes to the conference that may affect the way you choose to register for optional items. The conference when including participation in SIGs and Tutorials is one-day shorter. As such, you will notice the following program options:

STUDENT COUNCIL SYMPOSIUM (SCS4)

Friday, July 18

The 4th ISCB Student Council Symposium is a student-organized event featuring keynote lectures, oral presentations and a poster session. In addition to previous years, a career event will be organized with a variety of distinguished speakers from industry and academia.

The Symposium is tailored mainly to undergraduate and graduate students as well as post-docs in computational biology and related disciplines. This is once again a unique opportunity to meet fellow students and researchers for networking and exchange of ideas in a great setting.

FEES
The Student registration fee to attend is $60.00 and includes morning and afternoon coffee break and lunch.
Note: Student Council Symposium Registrants are not required to register as delegates for the ISMB 2008 conference to attend SCS4.

SATELLITE MEETING

Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19 (Satellite Meeting Website) ISMB 2008 will host a two-day Satellite Meeting prior to the conference.

Note: Registrants are not required to register as delegates for the ISMB 2008 conference to attend a Satellite Meeting. You may select "Satellite only" to register just for the 3Dsig Satellite Meeting. Satellite Meeting registration does not allow access to the SIG Meetings.

The registration fee for the Satellite Meeting includes daily lunches and the 3Dsig evening session and dinner. Each Satellite Meeting participant will receive a booklet that includes meeting notes. The Satellite Meeting will take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (South Building).

3Dsig Evening Session and Dinner

On Friday, July 18, 3Dsig will host an evening session including a panel discussion and keynote speaker and dinner on a central topic to Structural Bioinformatics and Computational Biophysics. This session is included in the 3Dsig Satellite registration. Other SIG delegates wanting to attend this 3Dsig session can do so for an additional registration price of $70.00. Additional evening sessions tickets are available for purchase when registering online.

SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP MEETINGS (SIGs)

ISMB 2008 will host one-day and two-day Special Interest Group meetings prior to the conference. New for 2008, there will be a one-day SIG held in parallel to the main conference on Sunday, July 20 and Monday, July 21.

Note: SIG Registrants are not required to register as delegates for the ISMB 2008 conference to attend a SIG meeting. You may select "SIG only" to register just for a SIG.

Registering for a SIG allows you to move freely between all SIGs that take place at the same time as the meeting for which you are registered, to the extent that the room capacities can accommodate. SIG registration does not allow access to the Satellite Meeting.

Each SIG participant will receive a booklet that includes handouts from all SIGs and daily lunches are included.

Please register for the SIG in which you are most interested so that we can assign SIGs to larger and smaller rooms as appropriate. All SIG meetings will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (South Building).

NOTE: One-Day SIG registrants are able to participate in SIG meetings only on the day for which they have registered unless registering for two one-day SIG meetings.

TUTORIAL SESSIONS

Saturday, July 19 Individuals will be able to register for one or two 1/2 day optional tutorials. There will be 5 concurrent sessions in the morning and 5 concurrent sessions in the afternoon. Fee includes one hard-copy tutorial notes of tutorial presentations you are registered for and one CD which includes notes from all tutorials. Lunch is included in registration fee for delegates registering for two tutorials.

*Delegates attending one tutorial only have the option to purchase a lunch ticket during online registration for $30.00

PUBLICATIONS

All ISMB 2008 registrants and/or tutorial participants will receive one copy of the proceedings on CD and/or tutorial notes. Additional copies are available for the following fees:

The organizers of ISMB have negotiated reduced rates at a number of downtown hotels. Your hotel room can be booked during the on-line registration process.

ATTENTION ALL ATTENDEES

Conference Proceedings:

Printed conference proceedings are available only by pre-purchase up until June 4, 2008. If you do not order printed proceedings it is recommended that you bring a laptop computer with you to ISMB 2008 as the conference proceedings will only be distributed via CD. Conference proceedings will be available as an open access, online-only issue of Bioinformatics.

Wireless internet services will be available throughout the conference facility, and a limited number of computer stations will be available for online viewing.

INTERNATIONAL VISITORS TO CANADA

International visitors to Canada must carry a valid passport and, if required, a visa. Citizens from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Mexico, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia and others do not require a visa to enter Canada. Visit the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website at www.cic.gc.ca for a complete listing of countries whose citizens require visas to enter Canada.

All refunds will be processed and mailed following the ISMB 2008 Conference. Refunds will be made in accordance with the following schedule.

  • Cancellations received on or before May 19, 2008, will receive a full refund minus a $100.00 US processing fee.
  • Cancellations received from May 20, 2008 through June 19, 2008 will receive a full refund minus a $200.00 US processing fee.
  • No refund of fees will be made after June 20, 2008.
