Pacific
Symposium on Biocomputing 2006
United States - HI - Maui
Dates: Jan 03, 2005 through Jan 07, 2006 |
PSB
has been designed to be responsive to the need for critical
mass in sub-disciplines within biocomputing. For that
reason, the sessions are defined dynamically each year
in response to specific proposals, organized by leaders
in the emerging areas, and targeted to provide a forum
for publication and discussion of research in biocomputing's
"hot topics." In this way, PSB provides an early
forum for serious examination of emerging methods and
approaches in this rapidly changing field.
ISCB Member Discount: TBA (Registration will open in August,
2005)

Annual Nucleic Acid-Based Technologies: Applications Amplified
United States - MD – Baltimore
Hosted by: Cambridge Healthtech Institute
Dates: Jun 27, 2005 through Jun 28, 2005 |
High-throughput
nucleic-acid based technologies are revolutionizing
modern biology - none more so than PCR – the most
sensitive technique to amplify and detect low abundance
mRNA and minute amounts of DNA. While PCR is the backbone
of molecular biology it has not achieved the same throughput
as more recent technologies such as microarrays, biochips,
and parallel whole genome sequencing. New technical
developments that improve the performance of nucleic
acid amplification and detection, as well as practical
examples of how these techniques are used, is the emphasis
of this meeting.
