  • Affiliated Groups

The ISCB Affiliates program is designed to forge links between ISCB and regional non-profit membership groups, centers, institutes and networks that involve researchers from various institutions and/or organizations within a defined geographic region involved in the advancement of bioinformatics. Such groups have regular meetings either in person or online, and an organizing body in the form of a board of directors or steering committee. If you are interested in affiliating your regional membership group, center, institute or network with ISCB, please review these guidelines (.pdf) and send your exploratory questions to Diane E. Kovats, ISCB Chief Executive Officer (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).  For information about the Affilliates Committee click here.

FASEB LAUNCHES NSF ADVOCACY CLEARINGHOUSE WEBSITE

Bethesda, MD – The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) has launched the National Science Foundation (NSF) Advocacy Clearinghouse, a comprehensive resource that has been developed for the NSF advocacy community, policymakers, and members of the public interested in supporting NSF and the pioneering scientific research and education programs funded by the agency.

According to FASEB President, Mark O. Lively, Ph.D., “We’ve created a tool that brings together, in one website, information about NSF and its accomplishments.” The NSF Advocacy Clearinghouse is a compilation of links from across the NSF advocacy community. The site contains links to data, policy reports, NSF-funded scientific breakthroughs, advocacy tools, and relevant government and nonprofit information.

“For over a half a century, the National Science Foundation (NSF) has been a critical partner in our nation’s outstanding achievements in science and technology. Its success in supporting research and science education is unparalleled and is now being emulated by nations around the globe,” said Lively, “We hope that this new resource will inspire and help the many friends of NSF in their efforts to tell the story of this remarkable driver of progress,” he added.
FASEB will regularly update the site and welcomes contributions and suggestions. The NSF Clearinghouse is available at www.NSFadvocacy.org.

FASEB is composed of 22 societies with more than 90,000 members, making it the largest coalition of biomedical research associations in the United States. FASEB enhances the ability of biomedical and life scientists to improve—through their research—the health, well-being and productivity of all people. Our mission is to advance health and welfare by promoting progress and education in biological and biomedical sciences through service to our member societies and collaborative advocacy.
