ISCB Advances Young Careers!
Meet the young scientists that benefited from your support
COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGY…LIFE’S A BEACH!
Summer—a time for picnics, beaches, vacation—and the world’s hottest computational biology conferences! Thanks to support from our members, ISCB awarded travel fellowships to 89 students to attend ISMB in Boston, USA, and 9 students to attend ECCB in Strasbourg, France.
YOU CAN HELP YOUNG SCIENTISTS BUILD THEIR SKILLS!
Donate to the ISCB Student Travel Fellowship Campaign and invest in the future of bioinformatics and computational biology! Without the support of travel fellowships, many recipients would not have been able to attend the top conferences in our fields. And, ISCB receives many more deserving applications than we can fund. Your donations help us do more. Your contribution, at any amount, will make a difference for a young scientist!
From posters, to highlights and proceedings talks—for many students, ISMB and ECCB are their first opportunities to present at a major scientific conference.
Watch and hear how attending ISMB 2014 impacted students!

Summer may be over, but ISCB has exciting conferences planned for Fall 2014 and 2015! Learn more about how you can help young scientists and ISCB at

RECOMB/ISCB Opens Late-Breaking Poster Submissions
Deadline: October 10, 2014
The RECOMB/ISCB Conference on Regulatory and Systems Genomics, with DREAM Challenges and Cytoscape is now accepting late-breaking research posters.
Join us in San Diego, CA, USA, 9-14 November, for this multidisciplinary meeting that brings together both computational and experimental researchers in systems biology, regulatory genomics, and related fields, to discuss recent discoveries about genomic and molecular regulatory networks as well as innovative, integrative methods for developing a systems-level understanding of biological activity.

Submit your poster to be a part of this robust scientific program!
Dear ISCB and ASBCB Members and Colleagues,
We have extended the time for submissions of papers and posters, for the upcoming ISCB Africa ASBCB Conference on Bioinformatics, being held in Morocco!
Don't miss this opportunity to submit a paper or poster of your work!
Submissions will be accepted through March 4th.
Paper/poster selection may be determined very close to the start of the conference, however, and financial support is not available.
Conference sessions will be organized within the topic areas listed below. Papers and posters may cover any area of computational biology, and any accepted papers covering an area other than those listed below will be woven into the agena at the most appropriate slots available:
The conference will take place March 13-15, 2013 at the Novotel City Center Hotel in Casablanca, Morocco. Pre-conference workshops will be offered March 11-12 at the Institut Pasteur in Morocco.
Early registration rates will be available through March 1, 2013.
Register (click here) today to take advantage of these discounted rates.
ISCB Africa ASBCB 2013 Conference on Bioinformatics will feature a broad Bioinformatics scope that includes a special focus on infectious diseases relevant to Africa.

The Next NGS Challenge Conference, a joint event of the EU COST Action SeqAhead, the EMBnet, the International Society of Computational Biology (ISCB) and the 7FP Project STATegra, is dedicated to the presentation of innovative computational approaches to the analysis of high-throughput sequencing data. The goal of this Conference is to bring together computational biologist and bioinformaticians facing new challenges on high-throughput sequencing and to feature new trends in NGS-based genome research.
The conference will be held in Valencia, Spain, on May 14-16, 2013.
The Conference will consist of keynote lectures, oral presentations and lively poster sessions, and will be preceded by an EMBnet Workshop on data analysis.
We are proud to announce the participation of the following keynote speakers:

Dear ISCB Members and Colleagues,
The deadline for submitting Poster abstracts for The Next NGS Challenge, is
this Friday, March 1st!
Please consider submitting a poster (click here) and participating in this exciting conference.
Posters are intended to be a dynamic vehicle for communicating last or on-progress results. Poster sessions will be held from 17:00-19:00 h. on both Conference days and will be accompanied by light snacks and drinks to favor discussion and communication. Students are especially encouraged to present their work in this way.
